A Round Literacy

Local approach

A Round Literacy is a library which goes beyondits education aspect. The aim is to make ita structure that works simultaneously withthe chosen site Dire-Dawa in Ethiopia and itsresidents. The building process will be decidedin three phases, in order to build a solidcommunity base before the completion of thelibrary. To introduce such a program in a country struckby poverty, it is essential to consider the basicnecessities first. Thus, the project will start withequipment such as a water dispenser, restroomsand a communal space to sell edibles.

A “CIRCLE” is an organic shape that fosterstogetherness, and communities. The accessto literacy must be not only supported byarchitecture but the local actors who will bringtheir own strength and gather around thisproject.
